There will also be prizes for the supporters who will be at the stadium tomorrow.
Responding to the announcement of the incentives, the PSL chief executive officer Kennedy Ndebele said if the clubs go ahead and play under the bank’s conditions, the league will withhold their prizemoney while at the same time calling off the match.
League sponsors, Delta Beverages through their Castle Lager brand had also reportedly threatened to pull out in protest.
Phiri, however, assured the soccer crazy nation that the match was on as scheduled and BancABC said there was no change to their position regarding the incentives.
“We have engaged the PSL to try and find common ground but nothing has been resolved as yet and as BancABC for now our position has not changed,” said the bank’s head of marketing Cynthia Chizwina in a telephone interview yesterday.
She, however, said they will stand guided by whatever is agreed between the PSL and league sponsors, Delta Beverages.
Chizwina referred further questions to the league president, Phiri.
“What I can confirm to you is that the match is on, that’s all I can say at the moment,” said Phiri.
