FOOTBALL fever has gripped the Midlands as ZIFA kickstarts the FIFA Football for Schools (F4S) project in a bold move to reshape grassroots football.
Schools in Gokwe, Kwekwe, Mvuma, Gweru, Shurugwi, Mberengwa, and Zvishavane have just scored big after receiving a fresh batch of footballs aimed at unlocking young talent and spreading the beautiful game to the country’s most remote corners.
“It’s more than just handing out footballs,” said a ZIFA spokesperson. “It’s about giving every child, no matter where they are, the chance to dream, play, and grow through football.”
The F4S programme, backed by FIFA, is designed to empower children through sport and boost inclusion in communities often left behind. ZIFA says it’s committed to turning dusty playgrounds into future national team breeding grounds.
This latest rollout is part of a larger vision to ensure football reaches every child across Zimbabwe. With FIFA’s backing, ZIFA is laying the foundation for a future where stars are made in every province, not just the big cities.
Football boots are laced, balls are bouncing, and dreams are being born across Midlands. The game is on!
