ZiFM takes radio to the people

Showbiz Reporter
ZiFM will this weekend host a series of parties as part of efforts to take radio to the people as its parent company — AB Communications — prepares to launch two more radio stations in Gweru and Masvingo.

The first party will be held in Bulawayo at Club Eden on Friday evening, followed by the mother of all parties in Victoria Falls on Saturday evening. Dubbed the Zi-Ultra Festival, the Vic Falls bash taking place at the Kingdom Hotel’s Wild Thing Action bar will feature the station’s DJs and hosts, Tony G, Jeffery “The M C” Murimbechi, DJ Eve and Phat Styles.

The Bulawayo party will feature ZiFM’s The Fixx hosts, T-Bass and P-Styles who will be joined by the ZiSquad who will be in transit to Victoria Falls.

One of the hosts, Murimbechi said the ZiSquad would have live broadcasts along the highway as they travel to Vic Falls.

“The ZiSquad which travels in branded party vehicles will stop over in cities and towns along the Harare-Vic Falls road to engage and have live broadcasts with the station’s listeners who’ve been very supportive,” Murimbechi said.

He said the vibrant station, which has a target audience of 18 to 35 year olds, was hosting the parties for their listeners to meet their personalities.
