The move by the national association is aimed at improving the standard of the sport locally and Jussila, a professional kickboxer, has been to Zimbabwe twice this year for the Heroes Cup tournament and the Inter-continental championships.
He is expected to conduct coaching courses in the country for a month in March next year.
Zika president, Tony Kamangira, said they are on a move to spread the sport throughout the country and there is need to involve other people from the international scene in their programmes.
“We have big plans for next year. There are programmes we did this year and some of them were successful while others were not. We were able to host the inter-continental championships. We realised that we are able to host international events and we want to have more of these tournaments next year so we need to involve people from the international arena who have the experience.
“We are going to collaborate with Jarkko and he is going to conduct coaching courses, seminars and workshops in different provinces.
“We are hoping that he will be in the country on March 1 until the end of that month. If finances permit we may extend the dates up to April,” said Kamangira.
The Zika boss also hopes that the programme will be a success.
“We are optimistic that everything will go well. So far we have two provinces – Mashonaland West and Central – which are not active and we are going into these provinces.
“We’ve got qualified instructors here in Zimbabwe but sometimes you need to spice it up by inviting other people from outside (the country) and it makes a difference.
“He (Jarkko) is a professional fighter and he is a coach in his country. He has a big profile there,” said Kamangira.
The Zika president said Jarkko will be focusing on several issues including the concept of the sport.
