THE Zimbabwe A rugby menas squad and womenas fifteens will on Saturday leave for an international friendly against Botswana in Francistown set for the same day at Tuskers Rugby Club.
Under the guidance of Ruben Kumpasa, last Sunday the Zimbabwe A established a five- day training camp in Bulawayo and ended on Friday, a day before they left for Zimbabweas neighbouring country.
An elated Kumpasa welcomed the tour after the Zimbabwe Rugby Union (ZRU) had previously indicated that the Sables were initially set to engage in the preparatory tie against their Botswana counterparts.
a?I will seek to develop and identify a pool of young players to build continuity for our Sables team for the elite level of playing rugby.
We are leaving on Saturday morning, play in the afternoon and come back home,a? said Kumpasa.
Takudzwa Francisco and Takudzwa Gamanya have been handed leadership roles in the team.
For the George a?Rolloa? Mukorera-mentored fifteens women team, which was in camp in Harare before moving to Bulawayo, this is the first time they will be in action in years since focus has turned out to be on the shorter version of the game.
Mukorera has been the fifteens coach for the past two years and last year his charges did not taste any action. . .
