ZIMBABWE body-builders picked five gold medals as they dominated the Fitness Physique Zambia competition which was held at the Nipa Conference Hall in Lusaka, Zambia on Saturday.

The local body-builders also scooped four silver and two bronze medals.

Among the biggest winners was Beloved Tonderai George, who walked away with two medals.

George scooped a gold medal in the Men’s Fitness category before walking away with a silver medal in the International Model competition.

In the body-building section, Gedion “Gidza” Teguru won gold, with Nicola Hwindingwi being adjudged the overall female winner.

Gweru-based Yeukai Midzi impressed the judges and claimed gold in the female Wellness category.

In the Men’s Wheelchair, Bulawayo-based Lesley Payne Gondo came out victorious.

George said winning in Zambia was a foregone conclusion.

“Remember the same Zambian body-builders took part in the Fitness Physique Zimbabwe and I beat them.”

“I knew their strengths and weaknesses, and winning was a foregone conclusion.”
