Local entrepreneur Romeo Gumede from Entumbane has hit the streets of Johannesburg with a surprise attack as his designs take over the streets.
Gumede who is a designer based in Johannesburg, South Africa, has gripped fashion lovers with his designs “Kwampha”.
The young entrepreneur launched his brand this year in August and he has so far done great than expected for a small business.
“I started in August but now I am getting orders from all over South Africa and my business is doing very well more than any start-up business could do,” said Gumede.
The young designer sees fashion as a tool that unites and empowers young Africans who have the desire to go into business but have a low self-esteem.
“My designers are not just plain designs but are to empower young Africans and promote black entrepreneurship,” Gumede said.
Gumede took giant strides soon after he launched his brand. The designer now dresses some artistes in the South African hip hop industry.
“I do not only design for the general population but I also design for artistes, my designs have been ordered by hip-hop artistes like Cruze,” he added.
Gumede says he sees his brand going places and taking over just like any other brand.
“Kwampha is a brand people should watch out for, from the response I got in the past four months it shows that my brand will go international, if in a space of four months I took over South Africa it means by the end of 2019 I would have done more,” Gumede said.
True to Gumede’s word, the designer launched an online store where anyone, from anywhere in the world can place an order of his designs.
“The online store makes it easy for my designs to go abroad and be accepted anywhere in the world,” he said.
Gumede did not rest during the festive season as he was up and about marketing his products at home.
