ZIMBABWE’S win over Afghanistan in their first one day match on Friday is likely to spur them on when they take on the visitors this morning at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo. Man-of-the-match, Sean Williams produced a great performance with the bat, getting 70 runs out of 65 balls to ensure the hosts take the game by six wickets with 28 balls remaining.

Skipper Brendan Taylor also came in with a 43 while Elton Chigumbura added an unbeaten 39.
Today’s game will give Zimbabwe the chance to inch closer to sealing the four match series that will see them play at Queens again on Tuesday and Thursday before heading for Harare.

Zimbabwe were comfortable on the bat and did not seem to be bothered by the tally that had been set by the Afghans.
Mohamed Nabi and Samiullah Shenwari scored 54 and 65 respectively as they held the middle order but their efforts were not enough to hand Afghanistan a win.

Zimbabwe is using the tour by the associate side to prepare for the Triangular Series that will feature South Africa and Australia next month.
