ZIMBABWE Golf Association have named the team that will take part in the All-Africa Golf Team Championship at Bulawayo Golf Club from October 29 to November 2.
The team will have experienced players like Keegan Shutt and Michael Wallace, who have been dominating local tournaments of late.
The duo will be joined by Kelvin Muchenje, Vincent Chidambazina, and Tinashe Chatora, who also have some wealth of experience.
Speaking at the team announcement ceremony at Royal Harare Golf Club yesterday ZGA vice-president Munodawafa Mutopo said they are happy with the composition of the side that will do duty for the country in this year’s AAGTC tournament.
“We are happy to announce a team that will represent us at this year’s edition of the AAGTC to be held at Bulawayo Golf Club.
“As a country, we will be hosting the tournament for the second time after we hosted the first edition in 2017 at Elephant Hills in Victoria Falls.
“We have named a team based on merit and the players with the potential to do well. “We are coming into the tournament as the defending champions and this gives us confidence that we have high opportunities to win the tournament again. We are also happy that we are the host nation and our players are very familiar with Bulawayo Golf Club and I hope that will help us. The team has players who are ranked on the World Amateur Golf Rankings and they are experienced.
