year’s Eastern Junior Cricket Association in South Africa in July.
The EJCC is a tournament meant to develop the skills and spirit of cricket at the junior level and Zimbabwe have been invited to take part.
Last year the Under-18 side finished top after winning five of their seven matches.
They lost only two.
A South African Franchise Easterns is hosting the tournament and they have also invited Namibia, Botswana and Mozambique to take part. ZC manager for national development Nick Singo released the Under-16 team.
Sean Andirisi, Joylord Gumbie and Keegan Higgins are the new players making it into the first team. “We have selected the players from the just-ended Junior inter franchise tournaments held across the country recently.
“The tournament will provide the lads with an opportunity for International cricket and I think it will be a good experience for most of them,” said Singo. The Under-13 team will be going first in June for a series of games in the same tournament, while the Under-14 will make their maiden appearance. The matches will be played in the Twenty20 and 40-over formats.
