Zimbabwean musician Intercessor is expanding his reach in the international music scene through an exciting collaboration with Japanese DJ 3D_Aka_Uchu (real name Takaya Fujimoto). The duo has joined forces on a track titled Ngeke Balale, featuring Lance Hebron and De Bablyy, set for release next Friday.
Speaking from his base in South Africa, Intercessor described the track as a festive season party anthem, encouraging people to enjoy quality time during the holidays.
“The song is a weekend party anthem about celebrating and dancing non-stop through the festive season,” he said.
Intercessor credited digital platforms for connecting him with DJ 3D_Aka_Uchu.
“After I released Mawoko on The King of Amapiano YouTube channel, 3D_Aka_Uchu reached out, interested in remixing it with soulful piano elements. He then sent me a beat, and I built the vocals around it, leading to Ngeke Balale, which is a true club banger,” said Intercessor.
DJ 3D_Aka_Uchu is known for his work with South African Amapiano artistes like Tman Xpress, Vusinator, and Mgiftoz SA. In 2020, he launched Japan’s first Amapiano-focused party series, YAMAPIANO, in Yamaguchi. Since then, he has released an EP and collaborated with over 40 African artistes, consistently releasing new projects.
