A look at how Zimbabwean football players fared in their trade abroad.
Knowledge Musona made his first assist of the season in Al Tai’s 4-0 win over Al Batin in the Saudi Pro League on Saturday.
The former Warriors’ skipper created the fourth goal by crossing a high ball into the box which was headed home by Amir Sayoud in the 66th minute.
Musona, who started in the game, played 71 minutes before being substituted.
Zhejiang striker Nyasha Mushekwi capped the 2022 Chinese Super League season with another goal to register his highest scoring tally in the top-flight campaign.
The former Warriors’ international finished the season with 17 goals and four assists.
His tally consists of one brace plus 15 solitary strikes. The striker also registered a four-match scoring run, his longest in the Chinese top-flight league.
The personal feats come after Mushekwi become Zhejiang’s all-time leading scorer in August.
The striker surpassed South Africa’s Dino Ndlovu, who held the record for a year.
He now has 52 goals for the club, 12 clear of second-placed Ndlovu.
Meanwhile, Zhejiang will be playing in the Asian Champions League next season after finishing third on the league table.
This will be Mushekwi’s first campaign in the inter-club competition since arriving in China in 2016.
Admiral Muskwe scored in successive league games for the first time since the 2020/21 season when he was still with Leicester City Under-23s.
Muskwe took his season’s tally to three goals following the two latest strikes this week.
He first ended his goal drought in League One on September 29 in Fleetwood’s 1-2 loss to Barnsley.
He came on as a second half substitute and converted a penalty which gave Fleetwood a consolation.
The 24-year-old netted again in the following match versus Shrewsbury on New Year’s Day.
Meanwhile, Muskwe’s parent club Luton Town will discuss his loan situation at Fleetwood.
The striker has had limited game time due to injuries.
Luton have a recall clause in Muskwe’s deal, but the Championship side will first discuss the player’s situation before making a final decision.
Bournemouth defender Jordan Zemura started in their 0-2 loss to Crystal Palace on Saturday, while Marvelous Nakamba was again not part of the Aston Villa matchday squad against Tottenham.
In the DStv League in South Africa, Warriors’ defender Onismor Bhasera scored his second goal of the season as SuperSport United edged Marumo Gallants 1-0 at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Friday.
The 36-year-old, who now captains of the Pretoria-based side, rose highest to brilliantly head home Grant Margeman’s pinpoint cross past Washington Arubi in the 56th minute.
Terrence Dzvukamanja’s agent Mike Makaab has confirmed plans for the striker to leave Orlando Pirates this month.
Dzvukamanja has struggled to get game time at the Soweto giants and is seemingly out of coach Jose Riveiro’s plans.
His agent is already looking for a new club following the opening of South Africa’s mid-season transfer window on Sunday.
SuperSport United are reportedly interested in snapping up the Warriors’ international.
