A LAST-MINUTE acrobatic strike by Beaven Chikaka propelled Zimbabwe Saints to a draw in this Castle Lager Premiership tie at Luveve yesterday.
It was a good result for Masvingo United whose players are on industrial action and, just like when they drew with Highlanders, they assembled a night before the league match. They had to borrow green kit that belongs to Zifa Bulawayo Province Division Two Soccer League side Luveve Big XI after a clash in colours.
The match kicked off at 3:30 pm with the visitors besieging Chikwata and they finally found the opener in the 19th minute when their striker Johnson Zimbabe outpaced ageing Chipo Tsodzo and his half volley beat an advancing Munyaradzi Diya in goals for Zimbabwe Saints.
In the second half Zimbabwe Saints’ gaffer Willard Mashinkila Khumalo introduced Abraham Mbaiwa, Forune Nyambosi and Simbarashe Gate.
The substitutes turned the tide in favour of the hosts and in the 89th minute they got their equaliser.
