Zim Sprinters Vie For Qualifying Times

SIX  Zimbabwean athletes will take part in the South African Engen Track and Field Championships in Pretoria, South Africa on Saturday afternoon.

The athletes are vying to qualify for the African Senior Championships to be hosted by Ghana in May this year.
The athletes are Ngoni Makusha, Merthembe Tshuma, Isaac Maphosa, Kurarama Samakande, Tafadzwa Nduna and Clement Matumbu.

The 200m dashes are set for 2PM and the 100m two hours later. One of the athletes in Pretoria, Tshuma said they are ready for the event and had loosened up yesterday and had a feel of the track.

“We pray for good races, we want to qualify for the African Championships and World Relays. I have worked hard,” said the athlete who ran a blistering 10.05 seconds in the 100m a fortnight ago.

Ngoni Makusha (100m & 200m), Isaac Maphosa (100m & 200m), Kurarama Samakande (100m),
Tafadzwa Nduna (100m), Methembe Tshuma (100 & 200m), Clement Tatenda Matumbu (100 & 200m).
