TEAM Zimbabwe are now on par with hosts Tanzania, in terms of gold medals, and have taken the overall lead, in SARPCCO Games.

The Zimbabwe men’s and women’s darts teams scooped gold medals by beating Namibia 31-4 and Tanzania 4-0 at Msasani Beach.

Zimbabwe and Tanzania both have 12 gold medals. Zimbabwe also have 19 silver and eight bronze medals. Tanzania have seven silver and nine bronze medals.

The netball team lost 41-45 to Zambia, in an earlier match, before overcoming Eswatini 42-32. Head of the Zimbabwe delegation, Commissioner Abigail Moyo, urged participants to remain focused and maintain team spirit.

“We want all disciplines to remain focused, supporting each other by maintaining team spirit,” said Comm Moyo.

“We still have more games to be played and we want to make sure they are completed in good spirit.”

Zimbabwe are the defending champions.
