Cricket Week in East London.
A squad of 13 players will leave Harare today for the annual tournament which runs from tomorrow until Thursday.
Fifteen junior South African provincial teams will be taking part in the tournament with Zimbabwe as the sixteen and only foreign team.
The participating teams will be Western Province, Boland, SWD, Border, Eastern Province, KZN, KZN Inland, Free State, Griquas, North West, Gauteng, Easterns, Northerns, Mpumalanga, Limpopo and Zimbabwe.
Walter Huchu retains his captaincy after leading the Under-13 team this year at the Eastern Junior Club Cricket Association (EJCCA) in South Africa. He displayed outstanding leadership skills and managed to control the scenery at each game with crafty decisions and was named the ‘Team Captain of the festival’.
The 2011 CBZ Bank’s Best Zimbabwean Schools Cricketer, Sam Curran, was also named in the squad and will be one of the key players to note of in the tournament.
Curran was named the ‘Player of the Festival’ at the EJCCA Festival in June this year.
