Five Zimbabwean young leaders affiliated to Lions Clubs International will travel to Las Vegas in the United States next week after they were chosen to co-facilitate on intergenerational leadership during the District Governors Elect School.

Lions Club International is the world’s largest humanitarian service organisation.

The five are Pritchard Muzanarwo, Tanya Nzvengende, Wilson T Chadzamira, Amanda Moyo and Liberty Chigova.

They were chosen after undergoing a gruelling selection process carried across the globe to select 22 young leaders.

In a statement yesterday, Winfit Services head of projects Ms Amanda Moyo said the programme was running from June 27 to June 29 in Las Vegas. She said Zimbabwe had the largest number of participants.

“The five make up the largest country representatives out of the 22 other youth leaders from 15 other countries,” said Ms Moyo.

“The US has the next largest country representatives of three.

“The rest of the other young leaders are from Egypt, Australia, Italy, Kenya, Malaysia, Uruguay, Belgium, Japan, France, Sweden, Finland, Singapore, India, Peru and Sri Lanka.”

The youths will train the incoming District Governors on Intergenerational Leadership and the integration of the Youth in the Association, a move which was pushed by the association’s incoming First Female International President Gudrun Yngvadottir from Iceland. The delegation will leave Harare on Monday next week.
