Zimbabwe remains a safe and attractive destination for both domestic and international travellers, a United Kingdom-based Zimbabwean has said, highlighting the country’s unique tourism offerings and warm hospitality.
Speaking to Zimpapers Business Hub during a pre-Sanganai/Hlanganani/Kumbanayi World Tourism Expo visit in Mutasa District, Gugulethu Nyashanu said Zimbabwe is blessed with breathtaking locations and welcoming people.
“I am here visiting with my family—my mother-in-law, my mother, my sister, and my brother,” she said.

“I would say that the Eastern Highlands is so stunning. This is a place I come to quite often when I return home because it’s peaceful, serene, gorgeous, and, more importantly, the people are very kind and lovely.”
Ms Nyashanu was speaking during her first visit to the picturesque Mountain Lakes Resort, where she expressed admiration for the area’s natural beauty and tranquillity.

“This is my first visit to Mountain Lakes Resort. It’s just a very beautiful place,” she said.
“In terms of tourism in Zimbabwe, I would say it’s very safe. It’s a very good place to visit and, like I said, people are very friendly, very kind, very helpful. You’ll always find somebody who wants to help you—very generous.”
Her sentiments come ahead of the 18th edition of the Sanganai/Hlanganani/Kumbanayi World Tourism Expo, set to be held in Mutare this week. The event, organised by the Ministry of Tourism and Hospitality Industry in collaboration with the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA), aims to showcase the country’s tourism potential to both local and international markets.
