Zimbabwe awaits new king of football as 2025 Soccer Stars ceremony kicks off

THE Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League (PSL) Soccer Star of the Year crowning ceremony is presently underway in Harare, where the country’s finest footballer will be named.

Tonight marks the 56th edition of the award, first presented in 1969 when Gerge Shaya was crowned the best footballer in the domestic Premiership.

Kevin Njabulo Moyo (Scottland FC), Washington Navaya (TelOne) and Emmanuel Jalai (Dynamos) are among theplayers heavily tipped to succeed Walter Musona, who claimed the 2024 Soccer Star of the Year accolade. Other honours set to be presented include Coach of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Goalkeeper of the Year, Players’ Player of the Year and Referee of the Year.
