On the 1 882nd day of their plea for the removal of sanctions against Zimbabwe, the Zimbabwe Broad Alliance Against Sanctions celebrated Africa Day in a vibrant display of unity and resilience.
Speaking recently during the Africa Day celebrations just outside the US Embassy in Harare, spokesperson for the Broad Alliance Against Sanctions, Mrs Sally Ngoni, expressed the alliance’s unwavering determination.
“We are gathered here to celebrate the spirit of ubuntu as Africans, encouraging all our African leaders to unite in the fight against the imperialists who are using sanctions to silence us as Zimbabweans,” Mrs Ngoni said.
“We call upon the imperialists to recognise our sovereignty and remove the embargoes on our country. We stand here in unity, embodying the resilience of the Zimbabwean people, and we urge the world to take heed of our plea.”
Clad in colourful African attire, members of the alliance came together to call for the lifting of sanctions that have been impacting the nation for decades now.
The celebrations were not only a plea for the removal of sanctions but also a vibrant showcase of African culture.
The Africa Day celebrations also served as a reminder of the people of Zimbabwe’s unwavering spirit and resilience in the face of adversity.
As the alliance continues to call for the removal of sanctions, their message and determination resonates not only with people within the country but also those across the African continent.
