ZIMBABWE Cricket (ZC) has confirmed the technical and support staff for the senior men’s national team and the Under-19 side, while also unveiling the selection panels that will oversee the two teams.
The appointments, approved by the ZC Board following recommendations from the Cricket Committee, form part of the organisation’s high-performance strategy.
Confirming the appointments, ZC chairman Tavengwa Mukuhlani said continuity remained a deliberate pillar of the strategy.
“The Board is pleased to endorse these appointments following recommendations from our Cricket Committee.
“We believe they represent a strong blend of experience, expertise, continuity and fresh perspectives that will help advance our strategic objectives across our national teams and player pathway structures,” he said.
The senior men’s technical team will continue to be led by head coach Justin Sammons, assisted by Dion Ebrahim, Courtney Walsh and Stuart Matsikenyeri.
Former Zimbabwe all-rounder Elton Chigumbura will head the Under-19 men’s national team coaching set-up.
ZC also confirmed David Mutendera as convener of the senior men’s selection panel alongside Hamilton Masakadza and Christopher Mpofu, while the Under-19 men’s selection panel will comprise convener Jestinos Gwatiringa together with Lesley Makirimani, Brandon Timoni and Tony Mupariwa.
