ZIMBABWE is emerging with renewed economic confidence and a clear value proposition for global engagement under the Second Republic, Foreign Affairs and International Trade Minister Professor Amon Murwira said on Monday.
Speaking after President Mnangagwa’s arrival in Dubai ahead of the World Governments Summit (WGS), which kicks off on Tuesday, Prof Murwira said Zimbabwe was increasingly engaging the international community from a position of strength.
“As you know, Zimbabwe is growing in terms of the economy and in confidence under the leadership of His Excellency President Dr ED Mnangagwa and the Second Republic. We are really engaging the world with something to offer,” he said.

President Mnangagwa is among more than 40 global leaders attending the three-day high-level summit, as countries seek future-ready strategies in the face of rapid technological change and shifting geopolitical dynamics.
Running under the theme “Shaping Future Governments,” the summit has attracted about 150 government delegations and more than 6 000 participants, including policymakers, business leaders and innovators. According to organisers, discussions will focus on key areas such as artificial intelligence, education, mobility, sustainability and economic resilience.
President Mnangagwa, who arrived on Monday morning, was welcomed at Al Maktoum International Airport by senior United Arab Emirates officials, Prof Murwira and Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to the UAE, Mr Isaac Moyo.
He is accompanied by Finance and Investment Promotion Minister Professor Mthuli Ncube, Tourism and Hospitality Industry Minister Barbara Rwodzi, Minister of Information Communication Technology and Courier Services Tatenda Mavetera, and Lands, Agriculture, Water, Fisheries and Rural Development Minister Dr Anxious
Masuka, among other senior Government officials.
Prof Murwira said Zimbabwe’s participation at the summit reflects the country’s re-engagement drive and its commitment to peaceful, mutually beneficial international cooperation.
“Our commercial, technical, technological and social engagement with the world serves our national interests. Zimbabwe pursues its interests in a peaceful, win-win manner, and this summit provides us with a platform to articulate our vision of future governments,” he said.
He added that President Mnangagwa has deliberately deployed ministers to advance Zimbabwe’s interests across strategic sectors.
The summit ends on Thursday.
