ZIMBABWE’s Under-20 and Under-18 boys’ handball teams are set for crucial semi-final clashes today at the ongoing IHF Zone 6 Trophy in Zambia, following a string of commanding performances that have underlined their growing dominance.
The Under-20 side will face hosts Zambia, while the Under-18 team takes on Namibia, as both Zimbabwean squads continue their impressive run at the OYDC tournament.

On the second day of competition, the Under-20 team delivered a dominant display, sweeping aside Namibia with a convincing 47–18 victory to underline their growing stature on the international stage. The Under-18 side followed suit with an equally emphatic performance, thrashing Eswatini 41–7.
Zimbabwe Handball Federation president, Taurai Muberekwa, expressed his delight at the teams’ performances, commending both their preparation and mentality.
“I am humbled by the boys’ determination, their courage, their commitment, their perseverance and their hope. I have so much faith in Team Zimbabwe. The boys are showing their class — top-tier handball is being displayed,” he said.
Both teams have shown tactical discipline, attacking flair and defensive solidity, raising hopes of a potential double appearance in the finals if they maintain their current form.
