THE 2025 edition of Miss International took place today at the Yoyogi National Gymnasium, Second Gymnasium, in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan.

Zimbabwe has recorded its highest-ever placement in the competition, as Yollanda Chimbarami claimed 1st Runner-Up, the best finish by a Zimbabwean delegate in the pageant’s history.

Alongside this achievement, she also earned the title Miss International Africa, underscoring her dominance among contestants from the entire continent.

The top crown went to Catalina Duque, who was named Miss International 2025.

Chimbarami’s result not only highlights her personal charisma, elegance, and competitive strength, but also marks a milestone for Zimbabwe on the global stage. The 2025 pageant saw Chimbarami emerge from a diverse and talented field of international contestants to secure the runner-up spot — a landmark moment that many consider a turning point for the country’s pageant profile.

Her winning of the continental title reinforces the significance of her performance: as Miss International Africa, she becomes a continental standard-bearer, representing African beauty, style, and poise at a major global event. For Zimbabweans at home, this is a source of pride and renewed confidence in the nation’s potential in global pageantry.

Beyond the crown and the title, Chimbarami’s rise reflects the growing maturity and ambition of Zimbabwe’s beauty pageant circuit. It sends a clear message: with the right preparation, grooming, and support, Zimbabwean contestants can compete — and succeed — against the world’s best.
