At 10 years old, Credo Samuel Kereke has lifted Zimbabwe’s flag high in Nairobi, Kenya, after being crowned Mini Mr Africa at the continental finals of the Little Mr and Miss Africa Pageant.
His victory, alongside six other Zimbabwean contestants who each scooped awards, signals not only childhood talent but also the power of advocacy and cultural representation.
His recognition as Tourism Ambassador, Soccer King, and Mr Personality indicate the impact of combining talent with purpose—transforming pageantry into a platform for advocacy, sports development, and cultural diplomacy.
In an interview with Zimpapers yesterday, Credo Samuel Kereke said representing Zimbabwe is both an honor and a responsibility.
He emphasised encouraging other children to model pride in their heritage.
“I represent the beautiful country of Zimbabwe in Nairobi, Kenya. And I want to introduce to you, myself as Mini Mr. Africa, Sports King, Ambassador of Tourism and Mr Popularity.
“To all those kids out there, I advise you to be the model and represent your country,”he said.

His father, Director of Air Force Projects Group Captain Credo Peacemaker Kereke emphasised nurturing his child’s public speaking and advocacy projects, linking them to national development goals.
“Credo started showing efforts in public speaking and we felt we should develop this talent.
“Mainly two of them, one on animal rights and the other on sporting, uplifting the underprivileged kids through sporting,”said Captain Kereke.
He said his son’s achievements are the pathway to raising Zimbabwe’s national pride while shaping him into a future leader with skills, character, and vision.
“We know this is going to go a long way in actually lifting the flag of the nation to greater heights.
“We are developing a model, we are developing a politician, we are developing a skill in him,”he said.
In her sentiment, Credo Samuel Kereke’s mother who a lawyer in the Air Force of Zimbabwe and Group Captain Priscilla Chindito added the cultural and developmental significance of the pageant, praising its role in shaping future leaders.
“I am thrilled to share that my son had the esteemed opportunity to represent our country at The Little Mr and Miss Africa Pageant 2026, held in Nairobi, Kenya and won.
“As an advocate for youth development and cultural promotion, I believe events like these play a vital role in shaping the next generation of leaders and fostering greater understanding and appreciation among African nations,”she said.
