ZIMBABWEAN champion Boer goat farmer and founder of Gatsheni Boer Goats, Mr Ntandoyenkosi Ndhlovu, has scooped the ‘Excellence in Agribusiness Award’ presented at a recent event organised by the Zimbabwe in Diaspora Organisation (ZIDO).
The accolade is in recognition of his contribution to livestock production, genetics improvement, and regional livestock trade across Africa.

It also reflects the growing role of Zimbabweans in the diaspora who are investing back into African agriculture and rural economic development through knowledge, business systems, and commercial farming initiatives.
What began as a focused Boer goat breeding programme has grown into a recognised livestock brand supplying quality genetics and livestock solutions across Zimbabwe, Malawi, Zambia, Tanzania, Kenya, Ghana, Mali, and Ivory Coast.
Gatsheni Boer Goats has built its reputation through quality Boer goat genetics, controlled breeding systems, farmer education, livestock exports and commercial livestock development.
The recognition also highlights the importance of livestock farming in creating rural employment, improving food security, and strengthening agricultural economies across Africa.
For Mr Ndhlovu, the award represents more than business success, it reflects a vision of building sustainable African livestock systems that empower farmers and promote regional agricultural growth.

“Strong genetics, structured systems, and knowledge-sharing are key to building profitable and sustainable livestock enterprises in Africa,” said Mr Ndhlovu.
He said by improving the genetic pool in the country as a way to increase the national head or to improve the national head in terms of offering excellent or good genetics from South Africa.
He does not only supply the breeding stock but also offers trainings, and offers mentorships on social media, where he trains a number of farmers not only from Zimbabwe but all over Africa.
Mr Ndhlovu has been recently elected as the Goat Breeders Association of Zimbabwe chairperson to lead efforts in commercialising and modernising the country’s goat industry.
He is a prominent award-winning, South Africa-based Zimbabwean farmer and agricultural economist who owns Gatsheni Boar Goats Stud.
