IT’S official – the Zimbabwe/India match at the ICC T20 World Cup attracted the second highest number of fans at the tournament.
A huge crowd of 82 507 fans poured into the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground to watch the showdown between the two countries.
Only the Pakistan/India battle, which attracted 90 293 fans, attracted more people at the World Cup, which ended yesterday.
There were 80 462 fans at the MCG yesterday as England defeated Pakistan to win the World Cup.
Zimbabwe, with four wins at the tournament, were among the leading nations, when it comes to the number of victories, at this World Cup.
Sri Lanka and the Netherlands also had four wins. The best bowling figures were being a former Zimbabwe youth international cricketer, Sam Curran, with his 5/10.
Sikandar Raza finished in 22nd place with 3/19 while Blessing Muzarabani was in 32nd place with 3/23.
Raza’s 3/25 helped him into 36th place while Sean Williams 2/9 saw him finish in 48th place.
Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga had the most number of wickets with 15 with Curran in second place with 13.
Raza was in 10th place with his 10 wickets, Richard Ngarava in 12th place with his nine wickets, Williams in 38th place with his five wickets and Tendai Chatara in 50th place with four wickets.
