ZIMPAPERS executive board members recently toured the new Diamond FM studios to assess progress and ongoing refurbishments taking place at The Manica Post building where the studio is housed.
The delegation comprised Zimpapers chief executive Mr Pikirayi Deketeke; chief technology officer Mr Darlick Marandure; chief marketing officer Tapiwa Mandimutsira and three board members, Bishop Trevor Manhanga; Mrs Doreen Sibanda and Mr Felix Moyo.
In an interview, Diamond FM station manager, Leander Kandiero, said the delegation was impressed by the progress made so far.
“When the executive members and board members visited, they were absolutely impressed by the progress made so far and they emphasised on the need for the radio to reach out communities.
“We will definitely work towards such mandate and we are happy that we have been communicating with people in Mutare through social platforms such as WhatsApp and sms. We will soon have call-ins to improve communication.
“We are humbled and excited by listeners and advertisers’ response. The brand will get better by each day as we also aim to play more music from locally-based musicians,” said the ecstatic Kandiero.
He said that the installation process in the studios was almost complete, adding that this would increase the station’s time on air.
“The installation of the on-air and production studio is now complete, save for a few technical gadgets that are still awaiting installation.
“The staff is now operating from the new studios. This means that the station’s time on air is going to increase and we will have more content such as news, though we already started our bulletins on December 1,” added Kandiero.
