Zimpapers makes editorial changes

ZIMPAPERS has made editorial changes at its Bulawayo branch, appointing Limukani Ncube as editor of the Sunday News with immediate effect.

Tumeliso Makhurane, who was editor at Sunday News, replaces Ncube as editor of the weekly tabloid B-Metro.

Ncube joined Zimpapers in December 1999 as a junior reporter at The Chronicle and rose through the ranks, becoming deputy editor at Trends Magazine before going back to The Chronicle as assistant editor in 2007.

He was then appointed the founding editor of B-Metro when the paper hit the streets in December 2010.

Ncube is reading towards a Masters Degree in Journalism and Media Studies with the National University of Science and Technology.

He holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Public Relations from the same institution, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Media Studies from the Zimbabwe Open University and a Diploma in Mass Communication from Harare Polytechnic.

Makhurane joined Zimpapers in June 1995 at The Chronicle as a news reporter where he rose through the ranks to become business editor, assistant editor and later deputy editor of the paper.

He was moved to senior assistant editor of The Herald in Harare in 2012 until 2013 when he was appointed Sunday News editor.

Makhurane holds a Diploma in Mass Communication from Harare Polytechnic, a BA in Media Studies from Zimbabwe Open University and an MSc in Journalism and Media Studies from the National University of Science and Technology.
