THE Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority (ZimParks) is offering a reward of US$2 000 for information that can lead to the arrest of suspects responsible for the poaching of three lions in the Hwange National Park.
ZimParks rangers stumbled upon three carcasses of three lions whose heads and claws were chopped in a suspected case of lion poaching on Tuesday.
Mr Tinashe Farawo, the ZimParks spokesperson confirmed the reward offer.
He can be contacted on 0772433901.
“All the information will be treated with strict confidence,” said Mr Farawo.
According to wildlife conservation groups, lion bones are in high demand in Asian countries where they are used in unscientific traditional medicine.
The Hwange National Park is home to the big five – lions, elephants, rhinos, leopards and buffaloes.
