Zimplats board chairman resigns

This follows his resignation as chief executive of Impala Platinum Holdings Limited, the majority shareholder in Zimplats.
Zimplats chief executive officer Mr Alex Mhembere acknowledged the significant contribution made by Mr Brown to the board.

“David has been an integral part of the development and success of the company since joining the board in 2001.
He was appointed chairman in March 2010.

“The board of directors thanks him for his very valuable contribution to the company over the years and wishes him every success in pursuing his own interests in the future,” said Mr Mhembere.

Zimplats said shareholders would be notified of his successor in due course.
The parent company, Implats last month announced the appointment of a new chief executive officer Mr Terence Goodlace, effective from July 1.
