Zimpraise for national tour

Victoria Falls. The choir will take a short break before heading to Mutare, Masvingo and then wind up their tour in Harare.
Those who attended their first concert in Harare will remember not only how the choir thrilled a capacity crowd but also drew some of the most influential church leaders among them Prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa of the UFIC, Dr Goodwill Shana, Dr Aspher Madziyire, the president of AFM, businessmen Philip Chiyangwa and Chamu Chiwanza as well as Pastor Victor Kambasha.
Also in the crowd was ICT Minister Nelson Chamisa and Chipo Mujuru, the daughter of Vice President Joice Mujuru.
It was not only music as the concert saw some of the luminaries in gospel being honoured. Gospel legends Pastor Lawrence Haisa, Elias Musakwa, Rita Shoniwa, Gospel Trumpet, Shower Power, Caroline Mujokoro, Vabati VaJehovah, and Fungisai Zvakavapano-Mashavave were honoured at the event.
Popular artistes in the likes of rapper Mudiwa Mtandwa, Pastor G, Kudzi Nyakudya, Tembalami and Sabastian Magacha also took turns to entertain gospel music lovers.
However, it was the legendary Baba Machanic Manyeruke who stole the show with an amazing act. Manyeruke, who was conferred with an award for his role as a living legend, made his presence felt at the concert by a delivering a flawless show.
Joseph Madziyire, the president and brains behind the Zimpraise Choir, said the concert was a resounding success as it brought people from various denominations to worship in song and dance.
“We continue to pray for such events where Christians unite and worship as a family. Quite honestly, it was a huge success and we are now looking at touring around Zimbabwe so that more people get inspired. We have partnered with other sponsors like Chicken Slice, G-Tel, First Mutual and 4 May to ensure that the tour is a success,” he said.
The 23-year-old music producer, who was named among the most influential youths in Zimbabwe, said he was humbled by the support he received from the choir.
He is one of the few young chief executives who runs an advertising and media company called Extol Media Group. To date, Madziyire has produced groups like the “Expandables”, Roki/Mampi collaboration, ExQ and Sabastian among others.
