ZIMRA urges businesses to register for tax

THE Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) has urged all dormant companies to register for tax purposes.

In a statement, ZIMRA said all taxpayers are advised that income tax returns for 2022 are due in different phases.

“For large clients, they are due on or before 30 June, medium and small clients are due on or before 30 June and 31 May respectively.

“All taxpayers that received or accrued income from trade and investments are reminded that they should submit income tax returns, accompanied by the relevant financial statements,” read the statement.

ZIMRA said taxpayers with approved accounting years, other than 31 December, should engage their regional managers for arrangements to submit income tax returns on specific dates other than within four months after the end of their accounting year.

“Late submission of returns and payment of tax attracts prosecutions, penalties and interest respectively.

“There are self-service centres (kiosks) throughout the regions for use in submitting the returns for anyone with no necessary resources to submit directly from their offices.”
