Ms Mabuya joined Government in 1984 as a typist stenographer before working at the then Ministry of Local Government.
In 1992 she moved to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on a lateral transfer and from 1994 to 1998 she was posted to South Africa where she worked at the High Commission of the Republic of Zimbabwe as third secretary.
Upon her recall from South Africa in 1998, she served as private secretary in the Office of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs until 2000.
She was transferred to serve in a similar capacity in the Office of the Foreign Affairs Minister until 2002.
From 2002 to 2008, Ms Mabuya was stationed at the Embassy of Zimbabwe in Rome, Italy, and on recall from Rome she served as a senior executive assistant in the human resources directorate at head office until 2011.
Ms Mabuya was then posted in 2011 to serve at the Embassy in Moscow, Russia, where she died.
She was born in 1965 in Insiza, Filabusi, Matabeleland South and attended Masuku and Tshabalala Primary Schools before proceeding to Mzilikazi High School, Bulawayo, for her secondary education.
She was a holder of a Human Resources Management degree from the Zimbabwe Open University, International Relations degree from the Commonwealth Open University of Spain and several diplomas and certificates in secretarial studies, diplomacy, management and foreign languages including Italian and French.
Ms Mabuya is survived by one child, Samantha.
Mourners are gathered at Number 10 Biddulph Road, Cranborne, Harare.
