Zimta elects new president

The incoming national treasurer is Mr Edgar Moyo from Matabeleland South while the secretary-general is Mr John Mulilo from Mashonaland East. The national representative for primary school teachers is Mr Leonard Sibanda from Bulawayo Province while the representative for secondary schools is Mrs Violet Mutize from Mashonaland West.

The newly elected representative for tertiary institutions is Mr Elisha Ndanga from Mashonaland East while the women representative is Mrs Elizabeth Mahiyana from Manicaland.
Mr Gundane, a teacher at Mkoba 1 High in Gweru, joined Zimta in 1991 immediately after leaving Gweru Teachers College and worked in Gokwe North District.
The challenges faced by teachers, which included harsh working conditions in the remote districts, inspired him to be active in the association.
