Zimta, MPs meet over education financing

The Zimbabwe Teachers Association is meeting with MPs from various parliamentary portfolio committees to lobby them on the need for increased State funding in the education sector.
The teacher representative body is lobbying the legislators under the Go Public, Fund Education Campaign.

Zimta president Akuneni Maphosa bemoaned the decline in funding for education saying this is causing the privatisation of education and widening the gap between the privileged and the underprivileged in society.
