Motorsport enthusiasts are set for a high-octane Heroes Day holiday as ZKS Spinners Arena prepares to host the Heroes Day Burnouts event on August 10, an adrenaline-charged spectacle that will blend tyre-smoking stunts with a vibrant entertainment line-up.
Expected to attract revellers from across Bulawayo and neighbouring towns, the event will be a family-friendly celebration of Zimbabwe’s Heroes Day.
Over the years, ZKS Spinners Arena has established itself as one of Bulawayo’s leading motorsport entertainment venues, regularly drawing crowds with spinning, drifting and stunt-driving exhibitions. This year’s Heroes Day Burnouts is expected to build on that reputation, with spectators set to witness daring burnouts, precision driving displays and crowd-pleasing spinning routines from some of the country’s top drivers.

The list of participating spinners is expected to be announced in the coming weeks as organisers put the final touches to the programme.
Beyond the roar of engines and clouds of tyre smoke, patrons can also look forward to an exciting entertainment package featuring some of Bulawayo’s popular DJs and performers. The line-up includes Nizhe De Soul, Keezy AM, MJ The DJ, We Blessed DJ, M2 The Vibe, Thando Lewandowski, Umlungu Omnyama 828 and Ngu Stafa Lo, while Macassette MC will steer proceedings as the event host.
Organiser Zakhele Mlilo said preparations are at an advanced stage, with organisers working to ensure a safe, enjoyable and memorable experience for all attendees.
A former member of the Zimbabwe National Army, Mlilo said the event seeks to create a platform where motorsport fans, music lovers and families can come together to celebrate Heroes Day while supporting local drivers and entertainers.
“Spinning culture is continuing to gain popularity across Zimbabwe, and we have decided once again this year to celebrate our heroes in style through this event, which will provide a platform for drivers and entertainers to showcase their talent before a large audience,” said Mlilo.
“We’re at an advanced stage in our preparations and anticipation is building up well. We want Heroes Day Burnouts to become one of Bulawayo’s major attractions during the Heroes Day holidays every year, offering a unique combination of roaring engines, thick clouds of smoke and great entertainment as we celebrate those who sacrificed their lives defending our sovereignty.”
