annual event which will be making a return on the national scene after taking a break last year ,will be held on December 10 and is set to feature all karate styles that are practised in the country – among them bino-ryu, JKA shotokan and kyokushin.
The tournament, which brings the karate family together, is an opportunity for local karatekas to share ideas and their experiences in the respective styles.
ZKU president, Simba Chikutu, said the event was one of their major events of the year.
“This is a major tournament of the year, all styles will be involved. There will be a semi-contact ring and full contact ring.
“We are expecting all fighters that have been participating in different tournaments to come,” said Chikutu.
Chikutu said the event will be used to select a team to represent the country in different competitions next year as they take the sport to another level.
