ZIMBABWE National Army (ZNA) Executive Interactive Initiative (EII) Matabeleland Chapter will hold a fun shoot at Woolandale Range in Matopos on Saturday.
The event is meant to give civilians an opportunity to interact with corporate executives and the army’s 1 Infantry Brigade.
Registration costs are $8 for an AK47, $6 for falling plates and $8 for PKM, while the full package will be $20 per individual.
1 Infantry Brigade public relations officer Lieutenant Brian Muchero said: “The business world in conjunction with the ZNA seeks to raise funds for charity.
The event is open to the public, so everyone is welcome to attend. I encourage everyone to come and spend a day networking.”
EII chairman Trust Mabaya said a number of corporate executives are expected to attend the event.
“United Refineries Ltd, PPC Zimbabwe Ltd, Rainbow Hotel, Afdis, Bakers Inn, Doves, Nyaradzo, First Mutual Life, Laymack, Econet, Moonlight and Stanbic Bank are part of the sponsors.
“This list is by no means exhaustive as we continue to get more pledges from more of our partners every day,” said Mabaya.
“I would like to invite other companies that are not yet part of the EII to come and support us so that we have a greater impact.
“I believe corporate citizenship initiatives are our collective responsibility and we all have a part to play in making our communities a better place through fun and sport.”
EII is the brain child of the commander of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces General Phillip Valerio Sibanda, with a vision to bring together the military and business community to foster relations in a bid to have them working together towards giving back to selected charities.
“We usually hold two of these events in a year; one in May and the other one later in October. Thus this is the second event of the year 2018.
“I am overwhelmed and humbled by the support we have received from the business community.
“I would like to extend my gratitude to all companies and individuals that are contributing to making the day a guaranteed success,” said Mabaya.
