ZNCC Secretaries Convention rescheduled to next Thursday

Business Correspondent
THE annual Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce Secretaries convention has been rescheduled to next week Thursday running up to Saturday. ZNCC Manicaland regional manager, Ms Perpetual Guwila said the initial date clashed with the Manicaland Agricultural Show which obliges the presence of most of its stakeholders.“We had to change the dates because several of our stakeholders need their administrators to the Manicaland Agricultural Show running this week. The show usually takes place in September but this year it encroached into October clashing with us,” said Ms Guwila.

She said they had also shifted the venue from Victoria Falls to Leopard Rock Hotel in Vumba due to logistical concerns that could not be quickly dealt with after rescheduling.

Ms Guwila said nearly Top of Form 30 secretaries from across Manicaland Province and Chiredzi had so far registered for this year’s convention.
The three-day convention will run under the theme, “Addressing Competitiveness Challenges in the workplace”.

She said the convention was a perfect time for secretaries and personal assistants to acquire knowledge and sharpen their expertise.
“From administrative professionals, secretaries and personal assistants, executive assistants, human resources training administrators, project administrators, senior receptionists, and office managers to administrative support staff, the occasion is very beneficial to enhance skills. The topic on addressing competitiveness is also important in the present-day, and it will be good for administrators to learn about their role in this national debate,” said Ms Guwila.

Topics to be discussed during the event include time management essentials, partnering with your boss and critical thinking and creative problem solving.
High level speaker, Mr Dennis Choguya and Hospitality Association of Zimbabwe President Mr Tamuka Macheka will deliver presentations as well as other reputable presenters from commerce.

In 2014, about 40 secretaries attended the highly successful event which was held in Nyanga.
