the national broadcaster to screen the majority of the Nations Cup matches live. Znssa executive director, Fortune “Giant” Bgwoni, said they were grateful to Mbada for coming on board to support a good cause.
“We are saying well done to Mbada for bringing soccer to all the corners of Zimbabwe by funding the broadcasting of the Afcon soccer matches live on ZTV in Zimbabwe. We are thanking them so much because since they came into football, football has taken a new shape in Zimbabwe,” said Bgwoni.
Bgwoni said the move by Mbada Diamonds was a welcome development and ZNSSA have received overwhelming responses from supporters who were cheered by the investment into the live broadcast of matches.
“This means so much to the people of Zimbabwe. We have been receiving calls at the office from the supporters asking how they can thank Mbada for what they did,” said Bgwoni.
Mbada came on the football scene last year with a bang when they sponsored a 16-team tournament that was eventually won by Dynamos.
Meanwhile, Znssa has called on all football fans to rally behind the Mighty Warriors on Sunday when they take on Botswana at Rufaro in the return leg of the African Women Championships preliminary round qualifier.
“On Sunday let us all fill Rufaro when the Mighty Warriors play against Botswana in the second leg and see that our flag is raised high,” said Bgwoni.
“This weekend we are expecting more supporters. We are looking beyond Sunday’s game. We are looking at the Nigeria game.”
