EIGHT Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services primary schools got a timely boost ahead of the second term ball games when they were handed full soccer kits by G-tel yesterday. The kits for the primary schools —Harare Central, Chikurubi Maximum, Whawha, St Thomas (Marondera), Mutare Farm, Connemara, Redina and Khami — were handed to Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services Commissioner Paradzai Zimondi.
The set included 15 soccer jerseys, socks, gloves, four balls and a pressure pump for each school.
G-tel head of marketing and sales Robert Gonye said they were happy to partner the Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services and believe this will go a long way in promoting sport in the schools.
“We are happy to partner all the primary schools under ZPCS through this donation and we hope to continue to work with them,” Gonye said.
“We feel it befitting to help the schools, especially during this second term where there are ball games.
“It is good that we support both education and sport. The kits will go a long way in identifying talent within the young children.”
Zimondi hailed G-tel for their donation.
“I acknowledge and appreciate the generous contribution made by G-tel and I hope it will go a long way in nurturing young talent. I am so grateful that the kids will have a platform to interact.
“The gesture by our partners is good as we will be able to capture the kids young and develop their talent,” said Zimondi.
