ZPCS Talent show on the cards

Entertainment Correspondent
THE Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services will at the end of this month hold a talent show meant to celebrate and appreciate inmates’, officers’ and community’s exceptional artistic talent.
ZPCS public relations officer, Liberty Mhlanga, said the inaugural talent extravaganza would proffer an opportunity for the participants to market and nurture their artistic talents and subsequently earn a living.
“The idea comes against the background that we have abundant talent within our prisons. The talent show will give us an opportunity to celebrate and recognise talent by inmates, officers and the community.
“The talent show will be a fun filled family day where officers, inmates and the community will showcase their talents through poetry, comedy, drama, music, dance, modelling, among other activities.
“Even though preference will be given to inmates, the involvement of outside performers will add in an aspect of competitiveness that raises the level of performances,” said Mhlanga.
He urged people willing to be part of the extravaganza to approach their offices and register. The event will be held on August 27. It starts at 10am. The exhibition fee will be $20 for corporates and $5 for individuals.
Gospel sensation, Elton Bushe and musical outfits, Mansa, Echoes Arts Group are products of the ZPCS correctional and rehabilitation programmes.
