ZRP reassigns top cops

Asst Comm Charamba’s deputy will be Chief Superintendent Oliver Mandipaka.
Spokesperson Superintendent Andrew Phiri was also transferred to the Police Staff College.
Supt Jessie Banda was also transferred to the Victim Friendly Unit. A total of 150 senior officers were recently promoted to the ranks of chief superintendent and superintendent, including former Masvingo provincial spokesperson Tinaye Matake.

Supt Matake will replace Supt Phiri at the Police General Headquarters.
Eighty of the officers including 10 legal officers were promoted to the rank of chief superintendent and 70 to the rank of superintendent.
Harare provincial police spokesperson Chief Inspector James Sabau, who was recently promoted, will now head the traffic section in Mabvuku area. A new spokesperson will soon be announced.

In June, 596 policemen and women were promoted to ranks between assistant inspector and chief superintendent.
The new ranks were with effect from June 10. Another 152 officers were also promoted to chief inspectors and they included spokespersons — Blessmore Chishaka,

James Sabau, Augustine Zimbili, Shelter Rufu, Tafataona Dzirutwe and the Outpost Editor Resistance Ncube.
Chief Insp Zimbili is now the officer-in-charge Nembudziya Police Station, Gokwe.
