THE 5th edition of annual Zimbabwe Teen Expo will be held tomorrow (Saturday) at Hellenic Community Centre in Mutare.
Organised by zwTEENS (Zimbabwe Teens), a social enterprise movement under the Zimbabwe Youth Council, this year’s expo will be running under the theme: “Reshaping the Future of Finance, Enhancing skills and Facilitating access to the formal economy.”
The programmes director, Mr Terence Mapuka, said all preparations were in place, urging all stakeholders that deal with teenagers and youths to attend. He said given the fact that over 40 percent of the Zimbabwean population were teenagers, an integrated policy focus that takes their specific financial, economic and social need was imperative.
“By the end of this programme we should be able to develop and disseminate evidence-based information to assess economic policies affecting teenagers, families and communities.
“This programme seeks to prepare young people for their financial responsibilities in life, providing them with the knowledge and skills to ensure a successful transition from economic dependence to independence.
“The zwTEENS Expo is an occasion for participants to conduct demonstrations, presentations and highlight activities to raise awareness and equip both teenagers and youths,” he said.
