MARONDERA, Mashonaland East Province – A total of 103 graduands from the Marondera University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (MUAST) will be conferred degrees today, including 4 Doctorates, 28 Master’s degrees, and 71 Undergraduate degrees. Notably, 41 percent of the total graduands are female, reflecting a commitment to gender equality in higher education.

The President and Chancellor of all State Universities, Dr Emmerson Mnangagwa, has arrived in Marondera to preside over the ceremony, which is themed “Education 5.0: Harnessing Agricultural Innovation and Industrialisation for Economic Transformation.”

It underscores the university’s mission to integrate education with practical agricultural solutions and industrial growth, essential for Zimbabwe’s economic recovery and development.
The event is expected to highlight the critical role of education in fostering innovation and addressing the challenges faced by the agricultural sector, positioning MUAST as a leader in agricultural education and research in the region.

Stakeholders from various sectors are anticipated to attend, emphasising the importance of collaboration between academia and industry for sustainable development.
