Inquest can’t order Mujuru exhumation

NO application for the exhumation of General Solomon Mujuru’s remains can be entertained by an inquest, the presiding magistrate has said.
He criticised the Mujuru family lawyer, Mr Thakor Kewada, for trying to draw conclusions before the ruling.

The family – through its lawyer – wanted a South African pathologist called by the magistrate to exhume and examine the remains.
But magistrate Mr Walter Chikwanha, who is presiding over the inquest as a coroner, said it was not the responsibility of the court to make such orders.

No blood on Zim diamonds, says KPCS chair

MARANGE diamonds cannot be classified as conflict gems, newly-elected Kimberley Pro-cess Certification Scheme chairperson Ambassador Gillian Milovanovic has said.

The statement deals a blow to Western-sponsored NGOs’ efforts to have the gems branded blood diamonds.
Ambassador Milovanovic said Cote d’Ivoire was the only country dealing in conflict diamonds.
