13 fined $200 each for shoplifting

THIRTEEN people who are part  of a group of a 16-member  shoplifting syndicate, who last week hired a kombi from Bulawayo to Masvingo where they ransacked supermarkets, have each been   fined $200 or in default 60 days in prison.
They appeared before Mr Patrick Mapiye.

Mkoba residents demonstrate against Gweru council

A group of about 40 residents  from Gweru’s Mkoba Village 19 yesterday stormed into the Gweru City Council Town Clerk, Mr Daniel Matawu’s office in protest after they became part of hundreds of households to receive letters of final demand for non-payment of tarrifs.

Businessman faces extortion charges

THE owner of ABC Driving School, Musa Joseph Adams, appeared in court yesterday facing charges of extortion and was remanded out of custody on $300 bail to 21 March.
Adams (58), of number 65 Main Street, pleaded not guilty to the charge before Bulawayo provincial magistrate Mrs Vivian Ndlovu.
It is his defence that this is a civil matter and as such should be taken to the Civil Court.
