MDC-T officials granted bail for defying order

THE 13 MDC-T members in Beitbridge who allegedly defied a police order by convening an unsanctioned meeting at a house in Dulibadzimu were yesterday granted bail.
Patricia Ndlovu (43), Win Mutasa, both local urban councillors, Farai Chinobva (34), Kimberley Nokuzotha (23), Elliot Mabeza (46), Daniel Mkhwananzi (72), Wellington Chidzingwa (58), Maphios Macheka (39), Rhodes Nleya (59), Grace Runesu (54), Islam Esleam Madhosi (45), Gibson Ndou (41) and  Philemon Kwinika (42), who is the district secretary for Beitbridge East were not asked to plead to charges of contravening section 26(5) of the Public Order and Security Act (POSA), Chapter 11:17 (failure to comply with a notice prohibition issued by the regulatory authority) when they appeared before Beitbridge magistrate Mrs Auxilia Chiumburu.

ELEVEN Zimbabwean swimmers will be travelling to Port Elizabeth, South Africa, for Level Three swimming championships that will be held from 16 to 20 March.
These are the second highest swimming competitions in South Africa after the South African championships and swimmers have to match or better standard times that are set for the level three championships.

According to Cont Mhlanga, the theatre expo is open to the arts discipline of theatre only and will run from 27 to 31 March at Amakhosi Cultural Centre.
