Delays by GMB hamper preps for new farming season

Delays by the Grain Marketing Board (GMB) to pay farmers for grain deliveries will hamper preparations for the coming farming season, Zimbabwe Farmers Union president Mr Silas Hungwe has said.
He said if farmers did not have funds, there was no way they could get inputs.

THE unregistered customary marriage is basically a better version of cohabitation when we look at it from a general law point of view.
All this is because the only proof of its existence is the word of mouth — there is no documentary proof. First and foremost marriage is the foundation of a family and as a people we prioritise family. An individual who is not married is not accorded “respect” that is accorded to the married ones. This type of marriage brings the two families of the couple closely together and till today it is still considered legal in our own customs as African people. For this marriage to take place the couple has to be given the go-ahead by their parents and relatives and they have to abide by the traditional customs that are prescribed before they are accepted as husband and wife.
Govt seeks Chinese, Japanese investors
The Government has engaged Japanese and Chinese investors to set up a mining exploration corporation, a senior government official has said.
The Mining Promotion Corporation will be charged with conducting mineral exploration throughout the country to ascertain Zimbabwe’s reserves of various minerals.

The enumerators claim that they used their own money for transport during the census but the agency has failed to pay them the $500 it promised them for the exercise.
